Application Information
- Mixing ratio: Comp. A : Comp. B = 3:1 by weight or volume.
- Layer thickness: 30 mm maximum of Sikadur 31 EF. If greater thickness is required, it can be applied in successive layers. If different batches are used, do not mix the next batch until the previous one has been completed so as not to reduce the workability time.
- Thixotropy:On vertical surfaces, it does not sag up to a thickness of 10 mm in a single layer (according to EN 1799).
- Product Temperature: Sikadur 31 EF must be applied at a temperature between +10°C and +30°C.
- Ambient temperature: +10 ºC minimum / +30 ºC maximum.
- Dew point : Beware of condensation! The ambient temperature during application must be at least 3ºC above the dew point.
- Substrate temperature : +10 ºC minimum / +30 ºC maximum.
- Substrate Moisture : When applying to concrete with matted moisture, use extra caution when applying the first coat.

Substrate Quality :
Mortars and concretes must be more than 28 days old (according to minimum strength requirements).Check the solidity of the support (concrete, masonry, natural stone).
The surface must be clean, dry, compact and free of surface laitance, ice, standing water, grease, oils, old treatments, loose or poorly adhering parts.
Steel substrates must be rust free and clean according to Sa 2.5.The substrate must be sound and all loose particles must be removed.
Substrate Preparation
- Concrete, mortar, stone or brick:
The surface must be sound, clean, free of standing water or ice, grease, oil, dust, old paint, loose or poorly adhering parts. Cement laitance should be removed and a textured, open-pore surface should be obtained. - Steel :
Must be clean and properly prepared, e.g. by sandblasting and cleaning of generated dust. Beware of water condensation (dew point).
Mixing of SIKA Sikadur 31 EF
Mix components A+B for at least 3 minutes with a low-speed mixer (max. 300 rpm) until Sikadur 31 EF has a uniform grey color and the correct consistency.
Avoid air entrapment during mixing. Then pour the product into another clean container and stir again for 1 minute, trying to minimize air entrapment.
Mix only the amount that can be used, taking into account the shelf life of Sikadur 31 EF.
Tool Cleaning
Clean all tools and instruments with Sika Colma Cleaner immediately after use. Cured product can only be removed by mechanical means.
